Career - Theatre Mechanist

Theatre Mechanists will load and unload scenery and will build and set up stage scenery and suspended scenery (or 'flown' scenery). They will determine the best method for storage and setting of scenery in performances and will run the scenery movements in a performance. They will operate the mechanical components of the stage including trap doors, lifting equipment and movable scenery and will carry out maintenance and repairs of stage scenery.
