Career - Safety Inspector

Safety Inspectors will examine equipment specifications, and inspect and test machinery, equipment and clothing to ensure it conforms with safety standards and serviceability and will also inspect public places and working conditions to ensure compliance with government and industry standards and regulations
Investigate accidents, study their causes and recommend action to be taken. They will inspect insured buildings, vehicles and commercial and industrial premises to evaluate conditions and practices affecting insurance risk, as well as to develop safety programs and will check workers to ensure protective devices are being used according to regulations and that dangerous materials are used and stored according to approved procedures. They will conduct tests in work areas to detect toxic fumes, explosive mixtures of gas and air, and other work hazards and ensure fire prevention equipment and other safety supplies, such as first aid kits, stretchers and blankets, conform to standards. They will assist in conducting safety meetings and campaigns and will organise training in general safety principles as dictated by regulations and will also report unsafe conditions and careless actions of workers.
