Career - Projectionist

Projectionists will make sure the film is in good condition and will thread film into projectors. They will operate the projector, adjust the sound level, focus the image and monitor the equipment for the duration of operation and change over and close down projectors. They will perform minor repairs and basic maintenance to equipment and make safety checks and will operate slide projectors, spotlights or similar equipment and also computerised equipment (called 'bio-box') used in large cinema complexes. They will supervise other staff and trainees and ensure compliance with safety regulations for cinemas. They will operate heating and air conditioning equipment, emergency lighting, curtains and music, which may involve using computerised equipment and will work in the ticket box, candy bar or office and also assist with general theatre maintenance.
