Career - Nurseryperson

Nurserypersons will prepare potting mix and containers before planting and will select seeds, bulbs or cuttings and plant them in beds, lawn areas or tubs. They will perform budding or grafting activities and will water plants manually and control automatic watering systems. They will apply pesticides to control pests, diseases, weeds and other plant disorders and will keep records of soil mixtures, plantings, treatments, losses and yields. They will select plants and package them for presentation or delivery and advise customers on the care of plants and the best plants for local conditions. They will plan sales area layouts and product presentation.
