Leather and Goods Makers will select suitable types and grades of leather and will draw patterns. They will cut leather to size and shape using special cutting machines called 'clicking' and 'skiving' machines and will join pieces together with rivets, threads or adhesives and will sew by hand using needles. They will fill saddles and collars with hair or flock (stuffing). They will attach buckles, eyelets and metal decorations, and emboss decorative patterns and will finish products with stain, dye, polish or coats of lacquer and will repair damaged goods.
