They will represent the organisation in negotiations with unions and employees to determine remuneration and other conditions of employment and oversee the maintenance of personnel records and various human resources information systems and coordinate occupational health and safety programs and practices, develop equal opportunity programs, and ensure compliance with related legislation. They will oversee the application of redundancy and other employee retrenchment policies and monitor employment costs and productivity levels. They are in charge to train and advise other managers in personnel and industrial relations matters.
