Career - Hotel Service Supervisor

Hotel Service Supervisors will determine work requirements and allocate duties to housekeepers, luggage porters and doorpersons and talk to managers to coordinate activities with other organisational units and maintain attendance records and rosters. They will explain and enforce safety regulations and oversee the work of the service unit and suggest improvements and changes. They will also oversee the provision of guest service standards to established policy and industry standards and talk to workers to resolve problems. They will perform front office and reception duties, which may involve accepting cash payments, processing EFTPOS and credit card transactions, reconciling the day's takings and generating reports. They will perform the tasks of a housekeeper, luggage porter or doorperson when necessary and perform basic maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs in hotel rooms.
