Career - Hotel or Motel Manager

Hotel or Motel Managers will plan, direct and coordinate accounting, food and beverage services, guest services, maintenance, staff development, and sales and marketing and allocate tasks and priorities, coordinate resources, and develop business plans and marketing strategies. They will manage building costs, rents, maintenance, lighting, power, heating, air conditioning, floorings and furniture and will control capital and operational expenditure. They will prepare reports for senior management and make sure government health, occupational safety and licensing regulations are followed. They will carry out marketing and sales activities for rooms, conventions, banquets and conferences and will supervise arrangement and re-arrangement of furnishings. They will manage the security of the hotel/motel and its staff and also publicise the hotel/motel through public relations activities in the local business community.
