Footwear Workers will cut and machine leather and synthetic shoe uppers and will make shoes using moulded and cement construction techniques. They will prepare machines for operation by selecting and installing attachments and components for specialised functions. They will start machines and monitor operation to detect faults and ensure effectiveness of operation. They will examine finished products for defects and variations and will report faults in machines, and will carry out quality control procedures. They will set and operate controls used to regulate processing operations.
