Career - Aviation Firefighter

Aviation Firefighers will assist in the evacuation of people in life-threatening situations using mobile high-performance vehicles and watercraft. They will fight fires using a range of equipment, such as hoses, foam sprayers and monitors and will administer first aid. They will protect property endangered by fires and will protect the environment (as necessary) in an emergency situation. They will participate in organised drills for fire control and rescue work and will conduct fire safety inspections and inspect fire alarm boards. They will test and maintain fire vehicles, hoses and other equipment and will assist in the operation of the Fire Control Centre at airports and will observe aircraft arrivals and departures.
