About
Thompson Rivers University was founded in 1970. For 45 years, it has taken pride in providing an excellent education to every student that comes from a wide variety of backgrounds and perspectives, at various stages of the learning journey. Thompson Rivers is a Canadian leader in knowledge export, delivering TRU curricula overseas through joint and accredited programs with institutional partners in China, India, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, and Dubai.
The university undertakes a wide range of customized training and consulting projects for international clients. One of the largest streams of programming in this area combines English language and teacher training for groups of qualified teachers from abroad. It is a comprehensive, learner centred, environmentally responsible institution that serves the regional, national, and international learners and the communities through high quality and flexible education, training, research and scholarship.
The university empowers the students to reach their goals with flexible learning options, individualized student services, hands on learning opportunities, and a diverse, inclusive environment. Thompson Rivers Programs are most often delivered at the main TRU campus in Kamloops, in the surrounding communities and in the clients home country. globe icon Visit Website
