Statement of Purpose for MS (SOP Samples for MS)

As a young person, I have always been attracted to the development, innovation and advancement of technologies around me. I am also passionate about exploring the science behind coding and what it entails to bring enthusiasm to me. I aim to improve myself and develop my knowledge more in the technical /(software) domain to reach a higher level of expertise in this field.

Coding is a fascinating world that is always evolving. I am constantly intrigued by the latest updates and developments in this field. From the devices we use every day to the software and gadgets being developed, coding has improved immensely and continues to grow at a rapid pace.

I have always been fascinated by the world of computers and the internet. As a teenager, I was introduced to how data is transferred from one end of the world to the other at the click of a button. This sparked my interest in Computer Science and led me to pursue it as a career. How music is consumed and created has changed dramatically in recent years, with digital platforms becoming increasingly prevalent. This has led to a situation where the line between real and artificial music has become blurred, so it is often difficult to tell the difference.

Music has always fascinated me, particularly how someone who is not skilled in playing an instrument can still produce music using software, even at a professional level. With my computer science studies, I gained an understanding of the coding that does the complicated processing involved in music production. Through the project I have been working on during my studies, I have come to see how coding can help bridge the gap between technology and music. This experience has given me great insight into the potential innovation that combining these two areas can bring. I have created software that allows people to learn musical instruments virtually by plugging in a MIDI controller device with a PC/laptop. This software provides users with programs to help them understand the fundamentals of music, test their understanding, and improve their skills.

This project gave me a deep understanding of how the software works, what kind of issues can arise, and how to fix them. In the next phase of this project, I plan to improve the software even further, making it more user-friendly and incorporating artificial intelligence to automate various functions. This will make the software more dynamic and efficient.

I believe that by pursuing a degree in computer science, I can help myself improve my skills and develop the ability to create software that can build a virtual community. This community would incorporate not only music into digital platforms but a variety of other content as well. By making this easily accessible to people around us, we can help them achieve their dreams. In doing so, we can contribute to the ever-growing world of technology.
