The University of the West of England (UWE) is a University Alliance educational institution that provides education at the undergraduate and masters level. The university offers over 600 programmes in several lucrative disciplines. Apart from this, UWE also offers many short-term and professional courses across fields, such as arts, health, science, business and technology. UWE has established strong relationships with several leading corporations like BBC, Rolls Royce, CERN and NHS. The research-oriented university has carried out several international and national level research programmes. UWE has earned several recognitions for its exceptional contribution to the field of education. The Guardian University League Tables ranked the philosophy programme of the university on the sixth position, and it placed the university on 28th position among the top 121 institutions in the country.
UWE maintains e Frenchay Campus, City Campus, Gloucester Campus, Glenside Campus and Hartpury University. The campuses offer several facilities to the students to ensure that they lead a well-balanced academic life. The Frenchay campus has the Engineering Building, Bristols Business School, Future Space and Health Tech Hub. The city campus is known to have the award-winning film studios and design studios. The Glenside campus is home to The Hub, which is a common recreational place for the students. Other amenities provided to the students are the skills simulation suite, crime scene house and several libraries.
With over 29,000 students and over 3,000 staff members, the university is among the most popular educational institutions in the country. In the academic session of 2017-2018, the number of full-time students was up to 23,305, and the number of part-time students calculated to be 7,427.
