West Campus, located at the former world headquarters of General Electric, is a testament to this commitment.

Spanning 66 acres and boasting 550,000 square feet of building space, West Campus is a hub of innovation and creativity. It serves as the campus of innovation, providing expansion for the College of Education, the College of Business & Technology, and the School of Computer Science & Engineering. The facilities at West Campus have been specifically designed to support research in emerging fields such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data analytics, financial computation, machine learning, augmented reality/virtual reality, and e-game design.

One notable facility at West Campus is the Verizon & SHU Innovation Center. In collaboration with Verizon, this innovative coworking space brings together faculty, staff, students, and local startups, entrepreneurs, and corporations. The centre fosters an academic-focused environment that encourages collaboration, idea-sharing, and entrepreneurial endeavours. Through the Student Concierge Service, members can access resources, connect with university programs, explore internships, attend events, and benefit from mentoring and speaker sessions.

The IDEA Lab is another standout facility at West Campus. Spanning 11,000 square feet, this prototyping lab provides a transdisciplinary, problem-based environment for innovation. Equipped with advanced manufacturing tools such as 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC systems, and motion-capturing capabilities, the IDEA Lab facilitates the exploration of digital fabrication and fosters a community-engaged approach to innovation.

The NeXReality Lab is a University-wide resource dedicated to research and immersive learning in virtual reality, augmented reality, and extended reality (VR/AR/EX). With state-of-the-art equipment, including VR headsets, 3D scanners, cameras, and high-end computers, the lab offers a range of applications to support faculty and student exploration in this cutting-edge field. The lab provides ongoing networking, coaching, training, and access to a suite of VR/AR resources, empowering students and faculty to delve into game development, prototyping, and research opportunities.

Artificial Intelligence Lab is a dynamic space where students and faculty can delve into the vast potential of AI. With 40 computers boasting advanced processing capabilities and dedicated servers, the lab supports research and experimentation in various domains, including object recognition and eye tracking. Through collaborations with other departments such as finance, business analytics, accounting, information systems, nursing, physical training, health sciences, philosophy, and athletics, the AI Lab harnesses the power of AI to tackle emerging challenges in the modern world.

Cybersecurity is a critical field in today's digital landscape, and Sacred Heart University, SHU provide students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dedicated Cybersecurity Lab. Spanning 1,300 square feet, this collaborative learning environment enables students to simulate cyber threats, design responses, and develop defence strategies.
