About the course
The MA in Professional Landscape Architecture is a programme for those who hold either a bachelors degree in landscape architecture or a Landscape Institute accredited ‘conversion’ qualification and a degree in another discipline. At UEL, through design studio, live projects, and investigation of theory, we explore key issues in contemporary life - migration, inequality, climate emergency, urban growth, food security. We investigate our understandings of these ideas with passion and commitment; exploring the ways in which landscape, nature and place are socially, as well as physically, ‘constructed’. We seek to develop critical awareness and personal understanding of landscape, and from this, to cultivate an individual, considered approach. Our teaching supports the acquisition of the skills and knowledge that we know are relevant to professional practice now, while developing personal trajectories for the future, within this broad professional field. Download our yearbook to view examples of our students work. Completion of the MA in Professional Landscape Architecture allows registration on the Landscape Institute’s Pathway to Chartership.

About
University of East London is a public university located in the London Borough of Newham, London, England, based at three campuses in Stratford and Docklands, following the opening of University Square Stratford in September 2013. The universitys roots can be traced back to 1892 when the West Ham Technical Institute was established. It gained university status in 1992.
The University of East London has been pioneering futures since 1892: from the 2nd Industrial Revolution through to where we are now, the 4th. We are a careers-led university, dedicated to supporting our students to develop the skills, emotional intelligence and creativity needed to thrive in a constantly changing world.
Over the 2018-19 academic year the University of East London has been developing and starting to implement a new 10-year strategy, Vision 2028, to transform our curriculum, pedagogy, research impact and partnerships to make a positive difference to student, graduate and community success. Our ambitious but achievable goal is to become the leading careers-focused, enterprising university in the UK, one which both prepares our students for the jobs of the future and provides the innovation to drive that future sustainably and inclusively.
