About the course
Build on your degree and expand your knowledge of finance—how money is spent, how risk is managed and how markets work. Further your understanding of the principles of asset pricing and corporate finance. Develop your research abilities and graduate with the high level of oral and written communication skills expected of senior business leaders. Choose from an extensive range of topics including capital markets, corporate finance, derivatives, portfolio design and investments. Youll learn from academics with a wide range of research interests who have strong links to business, government and financial institutions in Wellington and beyond. The MSc will take you between two and two and half years of full-time study or up to four years part time. In the first year of your MSc youll take several courses related to your specialist subject area. Next, youll carry out in-depth supervised research for 12–15 months and write a thesis. During your studies you might also author publications for peer-reviewed journals.
