About the course
This early years education course prepares you to help children from birth to age 7 flourish, both as individuals and within their community. This fascinating field of study covers childrens rights, safeguarding, the importance of play and how to help children reach their full potential. The course is designed to give you a grounding in child development theory and the opportunity to put what you learn into practice. Work experience is an essential part of this course, and will further prepare you for the challenges of your future career. You will gain transferable skills that can be used not only in an Early Years Education setting, but also in social work, community education and education policy.The foundation year course is designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge you need to continue onto your Honours degree. You will study a range of subjects that will underpin your future study and also gain valuable experience of university life, with full access to campus facilities.
