About the courseThe University of Bedfordshire Business School has a special, distinctive way to bring together real business practice, academic research and innovative approaches to learning. At the heart of your learning experience here is a rigorous approach to practice. That means that you will experience how academic learning informs and improves a managers business performance, and how practical experience informs and develops an understanding of theory. You will have numerous contacts with real business and HRM projects and real HR managers, making the links all the time between your studies and practice. Our innovative approaches to learning start with the Business Pods, which have established a reputation for excellent first year undergraduate education. In your second year and final year your studies will centre on gaining the knowledge underpinning Human Resource Management. You will be introduced to practical techniques and tools and encouraged to develop professional behaviours which will enable you to become an HR professional. In your final year, you will also bring together and extend your experience in real world projects for real companies. Employers value people who can think rigorously and creatively about problems. They value people who can get things done. On this course, you will bring the thinking and the doing together.

AboutThe University of Bedfordshire is a public university situated in Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire, England. The university has roots from 1882, however, it gained university status in 1992 as University of Luton. Then changed the name to the University of Bedfordshire in 2006 by the approval of the Privy Council by merging the University of Luton and the Bedford campus of De Montfort University.
The university is sprawled across six campuses; there are 4 campuses in Bedfordshire, in Luton and Bedford, 2 campuses in Buckinghamshire, in Aylesbury (for the students of Midwifery and Nursing) and in Milton Keynes (for business studies, telecommunications and electronic engineering). The university had entered the Research Assessment Exercise in 2008 and had achieved a GPA of 2.087 with 34.7 percent internationally.

Our Luton campus is located right in the heart of the town centre boasting our brand-new STEM Building, seven-storey Library and Postgraduate & CPD Centre, as well as an array of fantastic modern facilities to support each of the courses on offer. These include the Media Arts Centre hosting our broadcast television and digital radio studios, extensive STEM Laboratories & Workshops, a Moot Court, Business Pods, Healthcare Simulation Suites and our Campus Gym. For our Art & Design students we have the Alexon Building - a former fashion house based in the centre of Lutons Cultural Quarter, which contains studio space spanning across three floors with each course having their own designated areas including the fashion and photography studios. At the heart of our Luton campus is the Campus Centre where alongside a large lecture theatre and study rooms you can find our Careers Centre, Student Information Desk and other Student Support Services. It is also the place to build your social life, with Café Neo and our Students’ Union in the Metro Bar & Kitchen, home to Starbucks Coffee and a range of tasty food & drink while hosting regular live music, DJ nights and student events.
