The Gamecock Tradition Scholarship is for first-year students with a high school GPA of 3.0-3.24. Qualified candidates will have an ACT Composite Score of 26-28 or a SAT Combined Critical Reading + Math of 1230-1320. This scholarship is renewable up to four academic years. Renewal requirements are: maintain a 2.0 JSU GPA and earn 24 hours at JSU in the previous academic year.

Freshmen will be considered automatically for merit scholarships upon admission to JSU. Merit scholarships cannot stack on one another, this includes the Leadership Scholarship and JSU Honors Scholarship. Out-of-state students receiving a merit-based scholarship or grant will qualify to pay their remaining tuition balance at the in-state rate.
