A practical course for those who wish to embark on a career path into the global world of travel and tourism. Study this course and gain a range of valuable practical skills and knowledge on how to provide travel advice, work with your clients, manage itineraries, research industry trends, prepare quotations and process bookings. You will also gain hands-on training in the most widely-used reservations systems such as Galileo and/or Amadeus which will prepare you to enter the exciting world of travel and tourism. Students who successfully complete this course will be issued with the AQF (Australian Qualifications Framework) SIT30116 Certificate III in Tourism qualification. Students who partially complete this course (a minimum of one unit of competency) will be issued with a Statement of Attainment from SIT30116 Certificate III in Tourism qualification for the unit of competency successfully completed. This program will be delivered over a total of 52 weeks (1 year) which is made of up of 36 contact weeks plus 16 weeks of holiday breaks. Career opportunities : If you complete this qualification you could gain roles such as: adventure tourism guide, attendant or senior ride operator in an attraction or theme park, booking agent, customer service agent or reservations sales agent, cellar door salesperson and guide in a winery, guide and salesperson in an Indigenous cultural centre, inbound tour coordinator, marine tourism guide or dive tour operator, museum attendant, operations consultant for a tour operator, sales consultant, visitor information officer.
