If you have a mind for science and you’re keen to keep your options open, then the BSc is the degree for you. With many undergraduate majors in a wide range of subject areas, the BSc will allow you to incorporate different areas of interest and expertise. As well as strongly emphasising transferable skills to improve your employment opportunities, this programme will expose you to cutting-edge technologies and provide a gateway to independent research. Throughout your undergraduate degree you’ll be taught by knowledgeable scientists, many of whom are major contributors in their field. Were making some changes to our BSc from 2019. It will still have the same flexibility and youll still be able to choose from a wide range of subject areas, but youll also add a capstone course to your programme. The capstone course is student-led, and its your opportunity to integrate and apply your learning to a real-world problem in your chosen subject area. Were also excited to offer two new subject areas: Geographic Information Science and Green Chemical Science.Pharmacology is about the study of drugs, examining how they work, how they are processed by the body and the relationship between concentration and effect. Pharmacology is an exciting field of study and is essential to the discovery of new medicines to fight diseases. Whether it’s a drug we swallow for a headache or to cure cancer, Pharmacology looks at how the medication produces beneficial and adverse effects. Pharmacology also explores how we can improve the way drugs are tested. Study Pharmacology and contribute to tomorrow’s medicines and make a difference to health around the world.
