JCUs Bachelor of Arts-Bachelor of Science is a joint degree that qualifies students for a wide range of employment and career opportunities in administration, research, communication, education and other fields is renowned for its excellence in teaching and science research many of our staff are world leaders in their fields. You will enjoy field trips to fantastic locations, with easy access to the World Heritage regions of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, and the rainforests of the Wet Tropics. Depending on your choice of science major, you will have access to state-of-the-art laboratories and research vessels. Demonstrate a broad and coherent body of knowledge with depth in the underlying principles and concepts of at least one discipline of the Arts, Languages or Social Sciences. Integrate knowledge of the diversity of cultures and peoples, their differences and commonalities, especially with respect to Indigenous cultures and peoples. Apply critical thinking, independent judgement, intercultural sensitivity, and national, regional and global perspectives, to identify and solve problems in at least one discipline of the Arts, Languages or Social Sciences. Demonstrate broad understanding of the methods of science, including the creative processes involved in developing scientific knowledge, and its contestable and testable nature. Identify, analyse and generate solutions to unpredictable or complex problems by applying scientific knowledge and skills with initiative and well-developed judgement.

James Cook University is a public university in North Queensland, Australia. The second oldest university in Queensland, JCU is a teaching and research institution.
