The Harold J. Goodro Endowed Scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate student studying Outdoor Recreation Studies in Parks, Recreation and Tourism. The scholarship is intended to recognize students who demonstrate a willingness to pursue new challenges and adventures in outdoor recreation, an interest in protecting the wilderness and the environment, and an interest in leadership skills in skiing, rock climbing, mountain climbing, backpacking or backcountry camping. The applicant should also display enthusiasm and have an adventuresome personality toward the wilderness while showing compassion, kindness and care for others who use the natural environment, as well as modesty concerning personal achievements. Priority will be given to students with experience in parks, recreation and tourism and who have been active in a professional parks, recreation, tourism, or leisure organization at the local, state, regional and/or national level. Applicants should have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and a minimum of 15 credit hours in Parks, Recreation and Tourism.
