Social work is both a profession and an academic discipline that commits to social justice and human rights by supporting those in need. It is a vital and rewarding field of work that puts you in direct contact with often vulnerable and marginalized individuals, giving you a chance to make a significant difference to their lives. The course has been approved by the Social Work England – the regulatory body for social work training. Completion of the degree programmed leads to a generic social work qualification, which then allows you to specialize in a particular area of practice. It also allows you to apply to Social Work England for registration as a social worker. This degree is run in partnership with local agencies including Brighton & Hove City Council, East Sussex County Council and West Sussex County Council, as well as with carers and service users.
You must have successfully completed an United Kingdom Year 12 (or equivalent senior secondary school qualification) Equivalent qualifications may also include a recognised post secondary diploma in the relevant discipline with the required grades.Meeting the minimum academic requirements does not guarantee entry. Your application will still need to be assessed and accepted. If you dont meet the entry requirements, there may be other programs you are eligible for that can lead you to your preferred program.
