About the course
The Postgraduate Diploma in Arts Subjects (PGDipArts) requires two semesters of full-time, or its equivalent in part-time, study. It entails a structured programme of postgraduate coursework and, in some instances, a piece of supervised research that counts for one or two of the required papers. The normal admission requirement is a completed Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in the major subject(s) of the proposed programme.Asia is important to New Zealands future. For economic, political and cultural reasons, New Zealands involvement with Asia and the Pacific is desirable, inevitable and irreversible. It is crucial that New Zealanders know more about Asia, understand its cultures, history, political and economic systems and learn its languages. Links between New Zealand and Chinese-speaking countries and regions are rapidly growing.

The Te Aro Campus has two buildings, with the reception located in the University’s striking red building at 139 Vivian Street. A purpose-built space, Wigan Building, has been leased directly behind 139 Vivian Street, allowing consolidation of the whole Faculty within one location. Te Aro campus is close to Cuba Street, one of the main café areas in Wellington, and there are also supermarkets and convenience stores nearby.
