The post-baccalaureate Certificate in Clinical Research educates students in the conduct of clinical (human) research studies and trials. The focus of the curriculum is the foundational knowledge necessary to understand basic clinical research and trial study design, statistics and data management; ethical principles to respect and protect the rights and welfare of individuals participating in clinical research; and select regulations and guidelines to guide activities related to new biopharmaceutical and medical device product development. The Certificate in Clinical Research serves multiple post-baccalaureate audiences: current clinical research professionals seeking academic continuing education and professional development; individuals in allied health and basic science career tracks interested in expanding their professional scope to clinical and translational research; and individuals interested in exploring clinical research prior to applying to scientific and/or professional master’s and Ph.D. programs.
