About the courseThis two-year diploma program prepares you for a dynamic career in the property and casualty (general) insurance industry in Canada. Offered in cooperation with the Insurance Institute of Canada (IIC), this program is anchored on the fundamental aspects of both business and insurance and was designed with experts from several national insurance firms. Your learning will focus explicitly on brokerage, underwriting and claims. As a graduate, you will have had the opportunity to earn eight credits toward the internationally recognized Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation. Students meeting all academic requirements may have the opportunity to complete an optional co-op work term(s) in a formal work environment.

The Newnham Campus is one of the largest college campuses in Canada. It is home to more than 15,000 full-time students in business, engineering, aviation, early childhood education, fashion, opticianry, information and communications technology and liberal arts. The campus, initially known as Finch Campus, was renamed in 1984 after founding president William T. Newnham, is also the site of extensive continuing education activity during the evenings and weekends. The campus also includes a 1,113-bed residence, sports centre and daycare centre. It is located west of the intersection of Highway 404 and Finch Avenue East.
