This programme contributes to graduates obtaining their Maritime New Zealand licence: Skipper Coastal Offshore. This programme will give you the skills you need to take charge of, and maintain, the safety of vessels of less than 24 metres length, operating within coastal and offshore limits. If you already hold a Skipper Restricted Limits Licence, and wish to progress to the role of skipper on coastal or offshore vessels – then this programme is for you. You may also be eligible for this programme if you hold an MNZ Inshore Launch master license or a Local Launch Operator license. This Maritime Operations - Skipper Coastal Offshore programme will give you the qualification you need to apply for the Maritime New Zealand licence: Skipper Coastal Offshore. It also includes all the short courses you require to gain your licence, such as the fire, survival, first aid and radio certificates. Please refer to the Maritime New Zealand publication Seacert, which will provide information on how much sea time is required for each license.
