Our successful, long-established and research-led education and training is aimed at engineers and scientists wishing to improve the delivery of water supply and sanitation services internationally. The programme will be of value to those working anywhere in the world, but there is a focus on low-and middle-income countries. The programme will enable you to improve your knowledge, expertise and skills in many aspects of sustainable water supply and sanitation infrastructure delivery and operation. Other topics studies may include flood, groundwater and piped system modelling, as well as water and wastewater treatment, to address the changing needs of the market. It will also include non-technical modules or sessions that broaden the knowledge base and prepare you for future higher managerial roles. The course comprises compulsory modules covering all core aspects of water supply and sanitation engineering. You can choose one of three optional modules, enabling you to tailor the programme to meet your individual needs. There is also an individual research dissertation, which is linked to your specific interests and may include working with partner agencies around the world. Comprehensive facilities are available. These include public health and hydraulics laboratories, with equipment regularly applied in the field, thereby providing a unique learning environment.
