About the course
Developments in banking and finance are happening rapidly, and with growing complexity. People working in this area must be able to understand and analyse activity, and also be able to anticipate future developments. This includes knowledge of banking and financial systems and international markets as well as the role played by both commercial and central banks within the economy. Designed for UK and international students alike, this masters degree examines different international banking systems, money, investments and regulations which have become increasingly important in recent years. The course is a fit for students from a variety of backgrounds, and does not require any previous training in finance. If you are interested in international banking and finance, investment management, retail banking, financial risk and regulation or the broader international financial sector, this is an excellent postgraduate path whatever your previous degree. The University of Dundee is a public research university in Dundee, Scotland. It is a red brick university, founded as a university college in 1881 with a donation from the prominent Baxter family of textile manufacturers.The institution was, for most of its early existence, a constituent college of the University of St Andrews alongside United College and St Marys College located in the town of St Andrews itself. Following significant expansion, the University of Dundee gained independent university status by royal charter in 1967 while retaining much of its ancient heritage and governance structure.

It has expanded greatly since the university gained independence, from just four converted buildings when the University College was founded in 1881 the university has grown to consist of over fifty at present. The train and bus stations are also within a short walking distance, handy for those days exploring the best that Scotland has to offer.
