Our Integrated Industrial Design MSc programme aims to further develop critical awareness of major industrial design practice, increasing input capability and value to employers and is designed to improve the effectiveness of Industrial Designers. Industrial Design (ID) is the professional service of creating products and systems that optimize function, value and appearance for the mutual benefit of user and manufacturer” (IDSA) and is considered and integrated with an enterprise, business and sustainability agenda. The 180 credit programme culminates in a 60 credit Integrated Industrial Design Major Project that provides an opportunity to bring together all of the elements appropriate to the project Design problem or opportunity. The entire design process is covered, starting from a design problem or opportunity and ending with a complete product that is fit for mass or batch production.
