Sound and Music for interactive media applications has been explored in teaching and research at Abertay University since the launch games programmes more than two decades ago. Today, our researchers are operating at the forefront in dynamic audio production for applications including games, immersive experiences, installations, and performance and play. Research can explore both practical and theoretical approaches to Sound and Music. Particular strengths at Abertay include synthesis, integration of dynamic audio within game engines and technologies, and exploration of sound design within virtual and augmented reality. Research in this area benefits from the facilities of the Emergent Technology Centre and adjacent Recording Studio. Specialist audio labs, recording equipment, and software are also available for researchers interested in the development, installation and testing of interactive audio
You must have successfully completed an United Kingdom Bachelor degree (or equivalent overseas qualification) or/with full-time or equivalent, work experience in a relevant industry setting.Meeting the minimum academic requirements does not guarantee entry.
