The goal of the minor in Hispanic Studies at Southwest Minnesota State University is to provide the opportunity for students who are both interested in Latin America and have superior fluency in Spanish to consider the cultural, historical, political, economic, and social aspects of Latin America through a variety of courses in different disciplines. A minor in Hispanic Studies will be useful for students who are planning a career in global business, world economic development, international relations, or human rights and social justice as well as for students who are planning on attending graduate school in Latin American Studies or any of the related disciplines.
