The Department of Physics and Astronomy aims to promote the physical understanding of nature through dedicated research-based teaching, active learning, service, and innovative research at the highest level. Our majors and graduate students collaborate with faculty in experimental and theoretical research and gain hands-on experience with the latest developments in the field, opportunities that prepare them for successful careers in industry and higher education. The Option in Applied Physics provides a master’s degree program that emphasizes concepts and techniques particularly appropriate for applied physics. It is intended for students having a background in physics, engineering, or a related field.
You must have successfully completed an United States Bachelor degree (or equivalent overseas qualification) or/with full-time or equivalent, work experience in a relevant industry setting. Meeting the minimum academic requirements does not guarantee entry. Your application will still need to be assessed and accepted.
