The master of science in information systems is designed to provide you with a strong set of technical skills in addition to a broad background in business that will enable you to develop and manage a full spectrum of IT projects. This is a STEM designated program, allowing international students the opportunity to extend their Optional Practical Training (OPT) work permit for up to 36 months after graduation. IT is a major driving force behind business growth in the modern economy. To best solve business problems and catch business opportunities through creative IT solutions, employers are in a great demand for trained professionals who are well versed in both cutting-edge technology and business management. Graduates of the MS-IS program are bilingual in IT and business and they are highly sought after by employers. The MSIS program is offered on the Iowa State campus, with convenient online courses offered for scheduling flexibility. Students have up to seven years to complete the degree requirements, and it is possible for working professionals to complete the degree part-time. MS-IS students also benefit from extra opportunities such as the MSIS/MBA double-major and many business-related minors and certificates.
You must have successfully completed an United States Bachelor degree (or equivalent overseas qualification) or/with full-time or equivalent, work experience in a relevant industry setting.Meeting the minimum academic requirements does not guarantee entry.
