Youll gain a solid foundation in chemistry which you will use to understand how drugs and medicines are designed and made, how they work and why they are successful. Major pharmaceutical companies have contributed to the design of the course so you can be sure that you will gain experience in areas that are of interest to industry. Our chemistry degrees have the same core units in the first year giving you the flexibility to switch courses. Youll gain an in-depth knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry as well as the skills to carry out experimental and computational drug discovery projects. The broad range of topics covered will give you the option of a career in the pharmaceutical industry as well as a wide range of careers in research, academia and industry.
