The course offers students the opportunity to develop their understanding of the theories underpinning core phenomena in business analysis while allowing students to work with ‘live’ data, facilitated through the availability of the newly developed Finance Lab. The programme was developed to respond to demand from companies for specialist graduates with advanced skills and knowledge in areas such as statistics, data modelling, business intelligence and financial analysis. This course will also enable existing employees to acquire key skills and competencies to help them advance their career and make a greater contribution in their workplace. It will serve as a platform for knowledge expansion and the acquisition of new skills and competencies thereby developing a new mind set amongst employees in preparation for the demands of the ever-changing business environment. This programme will be delivered on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with the majority of classes facilitated in-person at our Waterford campus. Students will be required to attend for all classes, as well as independent study. In semesters 2 and 3 of the course, students will be required to attend preparation workshops and classes for either the internship option OR for those pursuing three Research Papers OR the applied business project/dissertation. This will comprise the final stage of the course.
