This degree is designed for students interested in pursuing a career in journalism, media and communications. Journalism education at City has a real-world emphasis. Time is spent in small workshops learning the multimedia skills required for a career in 21st century journalism: from writing, reporting and interviewing to social media analytics and preparing page layouts on screen. You will learn how to write news and features, use the professional standard TV studio and make video and audio packages and websites. Professional work experience is the key to getting a job in journalism and students are supported to arrange placements during their degree. This is complemented by academic subjects such as history, politics and law which are delivered through lectures and seminars and assessed through examination and essays. Duration - 3 years or 4 years with a work placement option or study abroad.
You must have successfully completed an United Kingdom Year 12 (or equivalent senior secondary school qualification) Equivalent qualifications may also include a recognised post secondary diploma in the relevant discipline with the required grades.Meeting the minimum academic requirements does not guarantee entry. Your application will still need to be assessed and accepted.If you dont meet the entry requirements, there may be other programs you are eligible for that can lead you to your preferred program.
