This qualification has been specifically designed for those whose aspire to gain membership to one of the professional accounting bodies, Chartered Accountants Australia New Zealand (CA ANZ) or CPA Australia. In most cases the NMIT qualification can be completed in 1 year full time. However, if you want to gain membership to a professional body, you may be required to complete additional courses to meet the requirements of your chosen professional body (see note below) and therefore add time to your total study period. A CA ANZ or CPA Australia qualified accountant would expect to be involved in a range of business activities within an accounting firm including giving advice, strategic planning, management and providing financial information to support business decisions, as well as preparing financial reports, auditing and providing tax advice.
