Iowa State’s School of Education offers the courses needed to earn Iowa’s Instructional Strategist II: Behavior Disorders/Learning Disabilities, ages 5-21. If you are interested in earning a special education teaching endorsement, but don’t want to earn a full master’s degree, the Special Education Certificate is right for you. All of the courses required for the Strategist II: Behavior Disorders/Learning Disabilities endorsement use a hybrid model that combines distance education components with a limited number of on-campus sessions (usually on Saturdays). Distance courses in special education make use of Canvas and video-streaming technology to maximize real-time interactions with the instructor and fellow students.
