As a Distiller, you have in-depth understanding of the scientific, technological and business aspects of distilling and fermentation combined with relevant skills and knowledge in product production, testing and merchandising. Niagara College’s School of Wine, Beer and Spirits is renowned for its outstanding reputation with graduates, employers and industry partners. The Daniel J. Patterson Campus in Niagara-on-the-Lake is located in the heart of Ontario’s thriving distilling industry and serves as a living lab for students, including a world-class teaching distillery; on-site 40-acre vineyard; a fruit tree orchard; hop yard; and apiary as well as the Teaching Winery, Teaching Brewery, Teaching Spa and Teaching Greenhouse. Since opening in 1998 the 125-acre Daniel J. Patterson campus in Niagara-on-the-Lake has been the centre for NC’s business, hospitality, environmental, culinary and wine programs. It has blossomed into a masterpiece of hands-on learning through the innovative development of several on-campus teaching enterprises. It has most recently seen the addition of a state-of-the-art fitness and research centre in the Marotta Family Innovation Complex, together with Canada’s first and only Cannabis Institute and Teaching Distillery. This campus houses the schools of Academic, Liberal and Access Studies; Business and Management; Environmental and Horticultural Studies; Hospitality, Tourism and Sport; Apprenticeship; and the Canadian Food & Wine Institute.
