About the course
This course offers an academic qualification which will enable you to work in a range of professional settings utilising film production skills. These include, feature film production, drama and documentary production for television and streaming providers, online video, corporate video and video art – be it for an established company or as a freelancer. Our key focus is developing your technical, creative and professional skills in a variety of roles. You will become familiar with industry practices while collaborating on creative film projects. Your practice is further developed through critical evaluation of your own work, contextualised by current research and debate in the creative sector and an understanding of industry trends.The course is rooted in a community-based approach, where you are actively contributing and co-creating the learning experience. We form a supportive environment, encouraging individual development and enhancement of creative and professional identities. We will empower you to become an outward looking creative who is able to collaborate and network effectively.Successful completion of the course will not only help you to gain skills in a wide variety of film production roles, but also help you to start developing further skills in your chosen area of film production and start building your own portfolio of work.

Coventry University is a public research university in Coventry, England. The origins of Coventry University can be traced back to the founding of the Coventry School of Design in 1843. It was known as Lanchester Polytechnic from 1970 until 1987, and then as Coventry Polytechnic until the Further and Higher Education Act 1992 afforded its university status that year and the name was changed to Coventry University.
The main campus of Coventry University is based in the centre of England, in the city of Coventry with Coventry University London just an hour away by train. As a top five UK student city (QS Best Student Cities Index 2019) Coventry offers students the benefits of both a great city experience and a campus with a thriving community.
