About the courseThe Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree certified by the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics is a program of study consisting of 72 credit hours (42 earned following a 30-credit M.S. degree) plus a substantial work of original research written in the form of a dissertation. Class work is focused on microeconomic theory, quantitative methods, and at least one tested field (Agricultural Economics or Environmental and Resource Economics).With proper planning and pre-enrollment academic preparation, a Ph.D. degree can be earned in approximately four years.
