The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claires women of color feminisms certificate is for students who have a strong interest in learning about the intellectual contributions, activism and experiences of women of color but cannot complete the requirements for a major or minor in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Courses across many fields such as history, psychology, sociology, feminist theory and literary studies examine the systemic, interlocking structures and politics of gender, race, sexuality, class and nation in the lives of women of color. Learn how to broaden the definition and scope of feminism, build solidarity across minoritized communities and make feminist engagement diverse and inclusive for all. Students interested in careers such as international education, government or civil service, social work, teaching, community-organizing and human relations may find this certificate particularly useful. The certificate is intentionally designed so that you can pick and choose the classes that are most relevant to your interests — making it an excellent addition to any major.
