The course focuses on primary care and community nursing, giving you the skills to provide exceptional care in a range of settings to support the needs of people in the community. We offer this course at our main campus, and also from September 2021 at Croydon University Centre. You can find out more about the delivery of the course at Croydon University Centre here. You will learn in brand new teaching facilities from expert clinical and academic staff and in a wide range of clinical placements. You will receive excellent support to ensure you achieve both academic and professional success. On successful completion of the course you will be eligible to apply for registration as an Adult Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). Your learning on the programme will be split between theory in the classroom and clinical practice in a range of placements and in the Clinical Simulation Centre (CSC). You’ll develop your theoretical knowledge through lectures, seminars, group work, guided independent study, online learning, reflective practice and a variety of assignments. You will be taught by expert staff and learn alongside nursing students and students from other health and care professions. You will gain practical skills and experience through a range of clinical placements, such as community nursing (district nurses), primary care (general practice nurses), public health nursing (health visitors), care homes, hospices, rehabilitation centres and acute hospitals.
