This three-Year programme offers the opportunity to hone cutting-edge coaching skills and knowledge in the real world, by working in partnership with Manchester City F.C.’s City in the Community Foundation. As such, it’s a course that looks beyond the boundaries of football coaching, helping you harness a broad range of sporting activity to make a meaningful impact on people’s health and lifestyle. your first Year, you’ll look at the fundamentals of coaching Science and human physiology, as well as issues around sport in society and the policies and practices of sport development. You’ll also work on the research skills vital for tackling the academic aspects of the course. Building on those areas in your second Year, you’ll move onto more advanced areas of sport development, community sport coaching and research methods. At this stage, you’ll have the chance to steer your studies toward your interests, with option units in areas like strength and conditioning, performance analysis or contemporary issues in sport.
