Sports Technology combines the excellence of both Sports Science and Technology. Focusing upon the design and manufacture of sports equipment, this course covers industrial design, human factors and marketing for the sports equipment sector. Worth over £3bn a year in the UK alone, the sports equipment market is buoyant and growing. Participation in sport continues to expand around the world, and in the UK approximately 64% of the population take some form of exercise. As the sector expands, more resources are allocated to research and development in order to deliver new and more innovative products. The IED and IET accredited BEng courses are intended for students wishing to pursue a career in the expanding sports-related industry sector. The courses are broad based and cover Sports Science, Design, Technology, and Engineering Science.
