Our Electronic and Computer Systems Engineering BEng (Hons) degree teaches you to combine digital electronics, microprocessors and software to develop and enable the potential of embedded computer systems. With that in mind, what does an Electronic and Computing Systems Engineer actually do They define the hardware, firmware, and software that enable and are implemented within the computer systems. The vast majority of modern computer system development is targeted at embedded, portable, household or industrial systems, such as mobile phones, tablets, set-top boxes, games consoles, car-building robots or in-vehicle entertainment. To develop such exciting new products, the embedded systems industry needs graduates having not just software skills, but also the expertise to design specific electronic solutions and their electrical connections to the outside world.
