The department offers a bachelor of science (BSc) program in physical geography. The program can be completed through one of three streams: bio geophysical science, geoscience, and physical geography and spatial information science. (1) Bio geophysical science offers students a broad range of environmental science courses in physical geography, with emphasis on geomorphology, climatology, hydrology, soils, and biogeography. (2) The geoscience stream is similarly broad-ranging but targets the academic requirements needed to apply for registration as a professional geoscientist (environmental geoscience) in British Columbia. (3) The physical geography and spatial information science stream focuses on the linkages between physical geography and spatial information science. Students completing this stream may also apply to receive a Certificate in Spatial Information Systems. The Department of Geography offers three concentrations in its science degree: Bio geophysical Science, Geoscience, and Physical Geography and Spatial Information Science.
