About the course
We offer a Bachelor of Interior Design (BID) program that is accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA) and that meets the education requirements for the NCIDQ exam and for licensure as an interior designer. Our program is professionally oriented and focuses on commercial and corporate interiors. We teach specialized knowledge in design, color and light, history and theory, furnishings and materials, environmental systems and controls, interior construction and building systems, and regulations. Additionally, we teach critical thinking skills, an understanding of the global context of design, the value of collaboration, and creative and professional modes of communication. We offer a wonderful environment where students attend a large, SEC flagship university and enjoy the benefits of a small, close-knit community. In the School of Interior Design, students and faculty are on a first name basis. We closely advise students on course selections, progress through the curriculum, and career goals. We also ensure that there is room in required courses so that each student can graduate on time when following our prescribed curriculum.
